The Muckraker Day 2.5

Muckraking; Origin of the term, Theodore Roosevelt, “... you may recall the description of the Man with the Muck-rake, the man who could look no way but downward with the muck-rake in his hands; Who was offered a celestial crown for his muck-rake, but who would neither look up nor regard the crown he was offered, but continued to rake to himself the filth of the floor.”

In Memory of Ida Tarbell; (November 5, 1857 – January 6, 1944) was an American teacher, author and journalist. She was known as one of the leading "muckrakers" of the progressive era, work known in modern times as "investigative journalism". She wrote many notable magazine series and biographies.

This new section of Anger/Action is Brewing is dedicated to a path of simple solutions to complex problems that are available to We the People. These actions are taken from the history of the “Progressive Era” of the early 1900’s.

DAY 2.5

Problem; Creating a Homeland Security Special Enforcement Division may give too much power to the Federal Government. This Special Division was suggested in other Days of The Muckraker.

General Discussion; I suggest that every Sheriff from every county in the country appoint a State Representative to be on the Board at Home Land Security Special Enforcement Division to address Home Land security, propaganda, ethics and whistle blower law violation issues, reporting to Congress and their findings be published in every newspaper and aired as a public service on all TV and radio stations.

One vote from San Francisco County, California, one vote from Pershing County, Nevada.

Solution; Just as every State gets two Senators, regardless of population, under this proposal every State would receive one Board position on the Homeland Security Special Enforcement Division. Each county across the Nation would vote on the representative through their chief law enforcement officer, the elected Sheriff.

Rural American values would be well represented and the recognition that homeland security includes a watchdog agency on issues such as Congressional ethics, blatant public lying by public officials and agency failure to enforce public laws. We can’t afford Capitol Hill securing their own ethics charges, whistleblower charges and protection of the whistleblowers.

This board should be called to meetings within the county of the representative chosen and meetings held through electronic medias as to not subject the board to Washington DC standards (or lack there of). A voice from home sort of speak taking our security to broader demographic values.

The investigative needs of this Division of HLS would be substantial. A different stimulus of sorts.

I'm just wondering why we would need another law in enforcement branch. Why can't the F.B.I. or the C.I.A or someone like that maybe just make a branch? I would really hate to see us waste more money that the country doesn't have on resources that we already have.
